Chair, Programming Committee, The Clemente 2017 - present                                        

Built Programming Committee with representatives from the not for profit community who brought extensive knowledge in industry best practice and art world connections. Created an External Review Panel for two in-building galleries, offering an accessible and rigorous selection process. Set up fair and transparent Open Call system, project promotion protocol, and worked with committee to set calendar for accepted submissions. Acted as Gallery Manager for 10 months during staff shortage - responsible for exhibition agreements, setting install, deinstall and reception dates, card approval and printing, filing for liquor licenses with SLA, and website updates. Wrote protocol manual for administrative staff and future Programming Committee members. Co-coordinated two building-wide Open Studios for 58 artists and not for profits, increasing attendance by 35% while utilizing half of the previous budget.        

Independent Curator 2010 - present                                        

Responsible for selecting art, writing press releases and curatorial statements or working with essayist, coordinating timely shipment of art, installation design, press and promotion for one to two shows a year. Shows garnered reviews, featured on PBS, attended by DCLA commissioner, Tom Finkelpearl.

Locating South Vietnamese colleagues from 1969 2013

Tasked to find client’s former colleagues, Bien Hoa, 1969. Used English and South Vietnamese language resources. Research led to third former colleague. Reunion. Interview transcribed and donated to Vietnam Archives, Texas Tech.

Sacred Harp Singing  - Smithonian’s Music on Main Street 2011

Research led to proper attribution of James Frazee as composer and third editor of The Newbrunswick Collection, publication of A Deep Rooted Tradition Returns: Shape Note Music and Sacred Harp Singing in New Jersey, 1801 to 2011 in conjunction with Smithonian’s Music on Main Street, Asbury Park, Sacred Harp Sing in the Convention Hall.

Hill Mangurian Tape Collection 2008

Assisted Rena Kozersky in locating descendants of musicians recorded by David Mangurian and Donald Hill and arranging for permission to donate recordings to the Library of Congress.

Romani (Gypsy) American History 2000

Using resources in the Romani Archives, UT Austin, researched Romani immigration of the 1720s through Pennsylvania and South Carolina into Appalachia for article published in The Historical Review of Berks County.


The Alan Lomax Archives March 1999 – August 1999

Office Manager/Archival Assistant - Created searchable index for reviews of Rounder CDs. Excerpted quotes from articles on Lomax’ work for submission to the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award committee. Broke down and created files for field trip notes and paperwork.

Researched descendants of artists due royalties. Created and instituted standard “thank you” form letter for donations to Archive. Updated shelf list. Created new periodicals shelf. Rearranged furniture to create more aesthetic, safe and productive work areas for staff. Prepared invoices, monthly petty cash receipts and checks for accountant. Routed mail.


William T. Grant Foundation April 1993 – September 1993

Information Manager - Set up simple, key work searchable database of documents relevant to programs. Input grant proposals. Sorted and distributed mail. Refiled physical, grant reports from organization to researcher per president’s request.


Rockefeller & Co, Inc. October 1989 – March 1992*

Files Manger/Research Assistant - One person Investment Library. Created Librarian’s position and research facility from clerical/files room earmarked for termination. Surveyed staff and purged over 500 lbs. of unnecessary files. Researched foreign and domestic companies and industries for investors and potential clients for client relations staff often using NYPL Humanities and Economics division databases. Arranged for systematic shipment of company material to International management Center Library in Budapest, Hungary dovetailing long term relationship goals with their Younger Manager Program. Coordinated with office manager to track and cancel costly unused subscriptions. Established periodicals routing. Maintained annual reports files. Claims. Loose-leaf updating.


The Robert Goldwater Library, The Metropolitan Museum of Art September 1987 – October 1989

Library Assistant - Responsibilities included shelving, assisting at reference desk, periodical and book orders including translating and placing orders in Germany, France and Latin America, reconciling budget, tracing gifts to the library, typing correspondence for head librarian. Researched dispersal of past gifts to the library using the ledger archives and recovered over $2000 in misappropriated funds.

Periodicals Library Assistant - Using Data Trek software, updated serial and patron information, resolved patron routing disputes, checked in periodicals and worked with systems support to solve problems within the database.

Subscriptions Library Assistant - Acted as liaison for department managers and Readmore and Turner Subscriptions Services for yearly update and renewal of over 4,500 subscriptions.

Pricing Library Assistant - Researched stock and bond price histories, name changes, mergers and bankruptcies.

Personal Archivist - Created index system for source materials for future creation of art and a title and subject index for slides and transparencies of art. Inventoried over 1,000 pieces for tax and will purposes.
